Make it for boys

I love reading crafty blogs, but I hate the fact that most of them craft for girls. Most sawing projects are dresses, and even when they are pants, they are cropped. Do we really need a cottage industry devoted to making even more clothes that make girls look like Easter eggs? (No, I’m not bitter. Although I do think that there is a shortage of girl clothes that look cool, and not like something from Strawberry Shortcake.)

So I was glad to see that there is a whole month of crafting for boys over at Dana Made It Blog: Celebrate the Boy! Check out these projects; they look pretty cute. In a manly way. I would totally sew up any of these, if only I could find a few minutes where I have my hands free AND can make noise. :)

And, for more things to make, MAKE Magazine has a tutorial for making your own photo cube! Elijah loves to play with these, and your toddler might be entertained as well.

Sticky things for Valentine’s Day and beoynd

Cute fruit labels courtesy of Twig and Thistle.  Print them on label paper, cut them out, attach to your husband’s lunch items and relax, knowing that he is certainly being made fun of by all of his male coworkers if they notice this at all.  They probably won’t, because I don’t think guys read fruit labels, or even know they exist.  But still – cute.  And also – shows you care.

I love everything in Pimplemeees, but this Family Planner takes the pie.

Love these cute kids’ tattoos from yet another Dutch shop.
